Basketball Recap: Franklin County Victorious

If Liberty County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Franklin County, they should've done a better job of containing Ja'Michael Miller. The Franklin County Seahawks put the hurt on the Liberty County Bulldogs with a sharp 59-34 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Miller, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sadiq Jones, who posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and six steals. He is becoming a predictor of Franklin County's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 10-3 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

Franklin County's record now sits at 13-8. As for Liberty County, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin County has already played their next contest (against Mosley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Liberty County will face off against Blountstown at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Blountstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
