Basketball Game Preview: Union City Bears vs. Mercyhurst Prep Lakers

The Union City Bears will venture away from home to take on the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Union City is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They enjoyed a cozy 56-41 victory over Titusville on Thursday. The Bears pushed the score to 47-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rockets cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Greer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Greer a new career-high in steals (six). Brooke Vantassel was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points in addition to five steals and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Mercyhurst Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Desert Mountain on Monday, taking the game 44-35.

Mercyhurst Prep's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Union City, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
