Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Grant

The Monroe Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Grant Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monroe is headed into Friday's matchup following a draw, the team's first since December 12. Neither they nor Poly could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Grant fell victim to North Hollywood and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 5-0 to the Huskies. While losing is never fun, Grant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 734th, while North Hollywood are ranked 273rd).

Monroe's draw gives them a new season record of 2-6-3. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1.
