Basketball Game Preview: Tahquitz Titans vs. Poly Bears

The Tahquitz Titans and the Poly Bears will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Tahquitz had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Rancho Cucamonga put an end to it on Thursday. Tahquitz had to suffer through a 82-23 loss at the hands of Rancho Cucamonga. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Poly's game on Thursday was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 57-48 to Vista Murrieta. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tahquitz will have to keep a close watch on Abby Folsom and Elizabeth Murray, a pair of players who had a big impact on Poly's prior game. Folsom posted 23 points, while Murray put up 18 points. That was a full 47.9% of Poly's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Tahquitz's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Tahquitz suffered a grim 47-26 defeat to Poly in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Tahquitz avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
