Basketball Recap: Mount Union Piles Up the Points Against Curwensville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Huntingdon County, Mount Union was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 74-35 win over the Curwensville Golden Tide. That 39 point margin sets a new team best for the Trojans this season.

Mount Union had a senior duo take command as Maddie Dimoff almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine boards and Cailyn Skopic went 12 for 17 en route to 25 points along with eight steals and five assists. With that strong performance, Dimoff is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Syneira Cox, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Mount Union was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mount Union's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Curwensville, their loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
