Softball Recap: Waverly Falls Short of Beatrice in the Playoffs

Waverly and Beatrice squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Waverly had to settle for second. They came up short against the Orangemen, falling 16-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Orangemen since August 29, 2015.

Jill Hind led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailey Recker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Beatrice, the win (which was their 24th in a row) raised their record to 32-4.

As of now, neither Waverly nor the Orangemen have any future games scheduled.
