Basketball Recap: Castaic Takes a Loss

Castaic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-33 defeat at the hands of the Quartz Hill Royals. The Coyotes were probably out for revenge after losing 57-25 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ashantee Palmer was her usual excellent self, going 14 for 26 en route to 38 points in addition to eight boards and seven steals for Quartz Hill. That makes it six consecutive games in which Palmer has scored at least a third of Quartz Hill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Dabo, who posted eight points and four steals.

Castaic's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Quartz Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Castaic will face off against Royal at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Quartz Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Knight at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
