Baseball Game Preview: Hampton Hornets vs. Eagle's Landing Eagles

Hampton is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Eagle's Landing an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Hampton Hornets will be playing at home against the Eagle's Landing Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Hampton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Hampton turned things around against The Grace Christian Academy on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since March 19th.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Eagle's Landing's offense. They came up short against Woodland on Friday, falling 6-0.

Caden Abrams was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

Eagle's Landing's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 5-16.

Hampton beat Eagle's Landing 12-8 in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
