Corning hadn't done well against University Prep recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Cardinals never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for Corning, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Alexa Galvan and Lexi Magana scored both of Corning's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Corning's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for University Prep, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
