Basketball Game Preview: Jordan Panthers vs. Lakewood Lancers

Jordan is 0-10 against Lakewood since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Jordan Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakewood Lancers at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lakewood is hoping to do what Venice couldn't on Wednesday: put an end to Jordan's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Jordan blew past Venice 55-15. The contest marked the Panthers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Lakewood entered their tilt with Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on Saturday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Cardinals, posting a 66-25 win.

Lakewood's win came from a few key players Jordan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nyemah King, who almost dropped a double-double on 36 points and nine boards. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Amy Rubio was another key player, going 8 of 20 on her way to 17 points along with eight boards and seven steals.

Lakewood's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Jordan, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Jordan came up short against Lakewood when the teams last played back in February, falling 52-42. Can Jordan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
