Basketball Recap: Sanger Takes a Loss

Sanger lost against Bullard back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sanger Apaches had to suffer through a 81-29 loss at the hands of the Bullard Knights. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Knights are ranked 159th).

Sanger lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brooke Garcia, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Garcia has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Gonzalez, who had six points and five rebounds.

Sanger's record is now 11-8. As for Bullard, they moved to 10-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Sanger will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season. As for Bullard, they will head out on the road to square off against Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
