Sandia has gone a perfect 10-0 against Manzano recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Matadors will host the Monarchs at 4:30 p.m. Sandia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Sandia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Capital, who was ranked sixth at the time (Sandia was ranked third). The Matadors' defense stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 4-0 shutout on Saturday. Sandia haven't had any issues with Capital recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Sandia hit Capital with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mateo Ojeda (2), Isaiah Ornelas, and Diego Roldan.

Meanwhile, Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 5-1 to Santa Fe. The matchup was a close 2-1 at the break, but unfortunately for Manzano it sure didn't stay that way.

Sandia's win bumped their record up to 8-2-2. As for Manzano, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Sandia was able to grind out a solid victory over Manzano in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 4-2. Do the Matadors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Monarchs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
