Softball Recap: Jones Drops Highest Score of Season Against Casady

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jones). Everything went their way against the Casady Cyclones on Monday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Longhorns considering their one-run performance the game before.

Jones' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Casady, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jones beat Casady by a score of 19-5 later that day.
