Softball Recap: Mullen Mustangs vs. Centaurus Warriors
After flying high against Englewood on Monday, Mullen came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell 18-15 to the Centaurus Warriors on Wednesday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Roslyn Fresquez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Another player making a difference was Haddie Slucki, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Mullen's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Centaurus, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.
Mullen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centaurus, they will square off against Loveland at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.45 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
