Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amory). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-6 win over the South Pontotoc Cougars. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their nine-point performance the game before.

Amory's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for South Pontotoc, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Amory will head out to face off against Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Hilltoppers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Pontotoc, they will face off against Corinth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cougars' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
