Kalkaska won the last time they faced Grayling and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Blazers walked away with an 8-3 win over the Vikings. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 27, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Zach Porter spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jet Bittenbender, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Ball was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Kalkaska's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Grayling, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Kalkaska will face off against Gaylord at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grayling, they will square off against Johannesburg-Lewiston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
