Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence suffered their closest loss since June 6th on Saturday. They fell just short of the Decorah-North Winneshiek Vikings by a score of 6-4.

Independence dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Independence wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against Edgewood-Colesburg on the 14th. As for Decorah-North Winneshiek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against Washington on the 14th.
