Softball Recap: Bryan Bears vs. South Sioux City Cardinals
Bryan extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-19. They came up short against the South Sioux City Cardinals, falling 9-1. The Bears were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Bryan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Morales, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
As for South Sioux City, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-20. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 18-2).
On South Sioux City's side, Keyana Weaver was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Weaver has posted since September 2nd. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Derochie, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Bryan will face off against Bellevue West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Sioux City, they have already played their next matchup, a 13-1 loss against Bennington on the 27th.
