Mayfield has gone 10-0 against Providence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mayfield Cubs will head out to challenge the Providence Pioneers at 3:10 p.m. Mayfield will be strutting in after a victory while Providence will be coming in after a defeat.

Mayfield will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against Polytechnic on Tuesday. Mayfield walked away with a 4-2 win over Polytechnic.

Meanwhile, Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 7-0 to Flintridge Prep. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 887th, while Wolves are ranked 43rd).

Mayfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1. As for Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1.
