Basketball Recap: Steel Valley Comes Up Short

Steel Valley lost against Avella back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Steel Valley Ironmen came up short against the Avella Eagles, falling 44-23. The Ironmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ava Frank had a dynamite game for Avella, putting up 24 points. Frank's morning made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Strope, who posted 11 points.

Steel Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Avella, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Steel Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-14 defeat against Shady Side Academy on the 2nd. As for Avella, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-49 loss against Geibel Catholic on the 2nd.
