There's no place like home for Douglas County West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the St. Cecilia Bluehawks on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Falcon, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lillee Zach made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Zach wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Anderson has brought in this season. Another was Bella Zach, who earned one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Douglas County West hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Douglas County West's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for St. Cecilia, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.

Coincidentally, Douglas County West and St. Cecilia will both be playing Ralston the next time they take the field. The Bluehawks will host the Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Falcon will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
