Football Recap: Rich Township Takes a Loss

If Rich Township was riding high fresh off their 63-19 takedown of Thornridge last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raptors took a blow against the Lincoln-Way Central Knights on Friday, falling 48-8. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Knights are ranked 17th).

Christian McCollum threw for 72 yards on 11 of 21 attempts. Camren Collins was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Ortez Johnson rushed for 50 yards.

Rich Township has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Lincoln-Way Central, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

As of now, neither Rich Township nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
