            Softball Recap: Vinita Hornets vs. Quapaw Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Vinita had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 14-18  on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Quapaw Wildcats as they made off with  a  12-2 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played  back in August of 2023.
 CC Carter was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  double.

 In other batting news,  Claudia Martins was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Those  two  runs gave  her a new career-high.  Rylee Brown was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Vinita  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quapaw only posted  an  OBP of  .333.
As for Quapaw, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record  this season. Having soared to a lofty 19  runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
 On Quapaw's side,  Kyleigh Redden made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  triple and one  RBI.
 Vinita didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  12-0  loss against Verdigris on the 22nd. As for Quapaw, they have also already played their next contest,  a  5-1  defeat against Colcord on the 22nd.
