Baseball Game Preview: South Atlanta Hornets vs. Cristo Rey Atlanta

The South Atlanta Hornets will face off against Cristo Rey Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Atlanta came up short against Salem two weeks ago, falling 13-3. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brandon Smith Jr and Khamari Browning did some serious damage despite the final result: Smith Jr went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, while Browning scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. South Atlanta is 2-1 when Browning posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontavious Crowder, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Meanwhile, Cristo Rey Atlanta lost 13-6 to The King's Academy on Tuesday.

South Atlanta now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Cristo Rey Atlanta, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
