Basketball Game Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. El Capitan Vaqueros + How To Watch

The Eastlake Titans are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the El Capitan Vaqueros at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Eastlake is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Patrick Henry on Wednesday. The Titans fell 45-41 to the Patriots.

Despite the loss, Eastlake got top-tier performance from McKenna Nafarrete, who went 10-for-22 on her way to 29 points and five steals. Nafarrete continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, El Capitan's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Otay Ranch. The game marked the Vaqueros' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Eastlake's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for El Capitan, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 5-3.

Eastlake was taken down by El Capitan 73-26 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
