Baseball Game Preview: Plainwell Trojans vs. Schoolcraft Eagles

Plainwell is 0-3 against Schoolcraft since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Trojans will take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Schoolcraft took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Plainwell, who comes in off a win.

Plainwell barely beat Thornapple Kellogg the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Plainwell's pitchers stepped up to hand Thornapple Kellogg a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Plainwell.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Hampton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Filkins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Schoolcraft's offense. They fell 5-0 to Three Rivers on Tuesday.

Plainwell's win bumped their record up to 16-13-1. As for Schoolcraft, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11-1.

Plainwell couldn't quite finish off Schoolcraft in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
