Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Clairton

With a playoff win on the line, Clairton rose to the challenge on Thursday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 71-44 victory over the St. Joseph Spartans. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 22 points or more this season.

Clairton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iyanna Wade, who posted 30 points. Wade's morning made it 50 games in a row in which she has scored at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was K Fuqua, who scored 18 points.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Clairton, bringing their record for this year to 18-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.2 points. As for St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Coming up, Clairton will challenge Geibel Catholic on Monday. Geibel Catholic will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Clairton surely won't give up without a fight. St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
