Middle Creek extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Cameron Gerber. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cary Academy Chargers on Wednesday for which the team can thank Gerber, who had 27 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Middle Creek had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Middle Creek found their leader in sophomore Gerber, who had 27 digs and two aces.

Middle Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive contests.

Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Cary Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Middle Creek will be playing at home against Felton Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cary Academy, they will head out to take on St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
