Middle Creek extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Cameron Gerber. The Mustangs came out on top against the Cary Academy Chargers by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday thanks in part to Gerber, who had 27 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Middle Creek had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 27-29, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Middle Creek found their leader in sophomore Gerber, who had 27 digs and two aces.

Middle Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Despite the defeat, Cary Academy had strong showings from Shayna Goulding, who had five aces and four digs, and Camille Monds, who had six digs and one assist.

Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Cary Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-10 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Middle Creek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Felton Grove on the 2nd. As for Cary Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against St. Mary's on the 6th.
