Basketball Recap: Bria Lewis Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Valley View

After losing to Valley View the last time they met, Heritage decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Heritage Patriots snuck past the Valley View Eagles with a 64-60 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bria Lewis led the charge by putting up 14 points and three steals. Lewis continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of LaKaila Trimble, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tiana Washington, who posted 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Washington has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mason Long, who scored 21 points along with eight boards and six assists.

Heritage's record now sits at 18-9. As for Valley View, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Heritage and Fallbrook will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Heritage is facing Fallbrook at the right time seeing as Fallbrook is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Valley View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
