Baseball Game Preview: Glacier Wolfpack vs. Hellgate Knights

The Glacier Wolfpack are taking a road trip to square off against the Hellgate Knights at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Glacier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Glacier sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Bigfork.

Glacier got a great performance from Wyatt Sharp as he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Sharp has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaeden Kahler, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Falon Clark, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hellgate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of Butte. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Knights' highest-scoring contest to date.

Hellgate's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Glacier, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Everything went Glacier's way against Hellgate when the teams last played back in April, as Glacier made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
