Baseball Recap: Hearts Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pinecrest Academy, Hearts Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Central Christian Crusaders by a score of 9-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-10 last Tuesday.

Hearts Academy let Jameson Wood and Kingston Wright run wild. Wood scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Wright scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Kyle Stubblefield also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hearts Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Christian only posted a batting average of .231.

Hearts Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Central Christian, their record now sits at 5-5-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hearts Academy Panthers take on Praise Academy Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Praise Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.8 runs per game on average), something Hearts Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Central Christian, they will challenge Covington Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
