Basketball Game Preview: Jay Mustangs vs. Pieper Warriors

The Jay Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Pieper Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Jay turned things around against McCollum on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 63-38 margin over the Cowboys. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.

Jay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Williams, who shot 89% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals. Alijah Hubbard was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pieper, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Tivy by a score of 72-65 on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Antlers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Pieper's record is now 12-2. As for Jay, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-10.

Jay came up short against Pieper when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 55-42. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
