Softball Recap: Castle View Wins Going Away Against Highlands Ranch

Castle View lost to Highlands Ranch back in September of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Sabercats blew past the Falcons 16-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sabercats.

Elle Danielson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Kylie Nahil was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Canepa, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Highlands Ranch, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castle View will head out to square off against Cherokee Trail at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Highlands Ranch, they will face off against Vista Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
