Baseball Recap: Monroe Area Comes Up Short

Monroe Area fell victim to Eastside and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Eastside Eagles, falling 9-0. The Purple Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monroe Area saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Vandiver, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Vandiver's first of the season.

Monroe Area now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Eastside, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.

Monroe Area and Eastside's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Monroe Area will take on East Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, a team that's only allowed 3.63 runs per game. Meanwhile, Eastside and Evans (who has only given up 3.83 runs per game) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
