Football Game Preview: Odessa Bronchos vs. Midland Bulldogs

Odessa is 0-10 against Midland since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bronchos will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Odessa has given up an average of 47 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Odessa is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 34 points back in September, they were much more limited against Permian on Friday. They were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The contest marked the Bronchos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Midland came up short against Frenship on Friday and fell 42-31. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while the Tigers are ranked 130th).

Even if they lost, Midland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Jayden Reyna with two.

Midland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Odessa, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Odessa was taken down by Midland 54-21 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Bronchos, Stroman Bridges (who rushed for 117 yards and one score on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
