Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for El Dorado

El Dorado had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 32-28 W against the Union Mine Diamondbacks. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Diamondbacks back in January, they had to take a 54-39 loss.

Lauren Blankenship was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Several Diamondbacks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eliza Hodnett, who posted nine points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kyra Wooden, who had five points and 18 rebounds.

El Dorado's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Union Mine, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-13.

El Dorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Mine, they will challenge Marysville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
