Baseball Recap: Midtown Beats Creekside for Their Third Straight Win

Midtown won the last time they faced Creekside and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Seminoles with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Henry Carter looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Charlie Frederick, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Patrick Rebillot, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Midtown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Creekside only managed one hit.

The victory (which was Midtown's third in a row) raised their record to 13-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Creekside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Midtown beat the Seminoles by a score of 17-7 on Tuesday.
