Rancho Cucamonga came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points) and they left with even more momentum. They wrapped up 2024 with a 54-39 win over the San Jacinto Tigers. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Tigers are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rancho Cucamonga's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for San Jacinto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.

Rancho Cucamonga and Valley View will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Valley View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. As for San Jacinto, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
