Football Game Preview: Long Branch Green Wave vs. Matawan Regional Huskies + How To Watch

The Long Branch Green Wave will head out to square off against the Matawan Regional Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Branch is looking for their season's first victory.

On Friday, Long Branch was just a hair shy of victory and fell 7-6 to Pinelands Regional.

Meanwhile, Matawan Regional hadn't done well against Raritan recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 37-14 win. That 23 point margin sets a new team best for the Huskies this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Matawan Regional and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.5 points over those games. As for Long Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Long Branch was dealt a bruising 38-7 loss at the hands of Matawan Regional when the teams last played back in October of 2015. Thankfully for the Green Wave, George Pearson (who threw for 264 yards and three TDs on only 18 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
