Basketball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

If St. Francis was riding high fresh off their 64-31 takedown of Rocklin last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Francis Troubadours came up short against the Oak Ridge Trojans on Friday, falling 68-48. The Troubadours' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, St. Francis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tayli Paeu-Lindgren dropped a double-double on 13 points and 19 rebounds. Paeu-Lindgren is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Sydney Teoh was another key player, putting up 11 points.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Oak Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

St. Francis won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Christian Brothers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Christian Brothers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something St. Francis surely won't give up without a fight. As for Oak Ridge, they will be playing at home against Del Oro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
