St. Lucy's extends road losing streak to four

Recap: St. Lucy's Regents vs. Packinghouse Christian Academy Bears

The St. Lucy's Regents's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-40 bruising from Packinghouse Christian Academy. St. Lucy's found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post seven fewer assists than your opponent.

Several Regents players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Celeste Traver, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Traver has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kira Carroll, who scored six points along with ten steals.

Pearl Harry continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Packinghouse Christian Academy, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Harry is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Savannah Ybarra was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

St. Lucy's dropped their record down to 10-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for Packinghouse Christian Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Lucy's won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Los Osos at 4:45 p.m. on January 26th. Los Osos presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Lucy's in California (Los Osos is ranked 51st, while St. Lucy's is ranked 907th). As for Packinghouse Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Bethel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
