North Harrison has gone a perfect 8-0 against Austin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. North Harrison is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
North Harrison took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They skirted past Lanesville 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Kendall Christie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 17 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyleigh Coffey, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Bryn Myrick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
North Harrison hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lanesville struck out 17 times.
Meanwhile, Austin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Providence, falling 13-0.
Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for North Harrison, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Austin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. North Harrison has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Austin, though, as they've been averaging only 3.3 strikeouts. Will North Harrison keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
North Harrison got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Austin by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
