Softball Game Preview: Seabreeze Sandcrabs vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets

The Seabreeze Sandcrabs will head out to take on the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Seabreeze is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Trinity Christian Academy just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 14-4.

Seabreeze saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariannah Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, St. Augustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-0 to Matanzas.

Seabreeze suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for St. Augustine, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Seabreeze's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Seabreeze has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for St. Augustine, though, as they've been averaging only 0.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Seabreeze continue to outrun the ball?

Seabreeze suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to St. Augustine in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Seabreeze avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
