Basketball Game Preview: New West Charter Eagles vs. University Prep Value Wolves

The New West Charter Eagles will head out to challenge the University Prep Value Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as New West Charter comes in on 11 and University Prep Value on 21.

Last Friday, New West Charter didn't have too much trouble with Math & Science College Preparatory as they won 39-23.

Meanwhile, University Prep Value was able to grind out a solid victory over Gertz-Ressler on Tuesday, taking the game 30-22. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Pumas are ranked 878th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University Prep Value pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.5 points. As for New West Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

New West Charter beat University Prep Value 31-20 in their previous matchup back in November of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for New West Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
