Soccer Game Preview: Calvary Christian vs. Central

The Calvary Christian Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Central Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Calvary Christian, who comes in off a win.

Central will be up against a hot Calvary Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Calvary Christian's way against Brookstone on Tuesday as Calvary Christian made off with a 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Benjamin Russell. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Devils came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Wildcats are ranked 85th).

Central's goal came courtesy of Earl Armstrong, who's now up to two this season.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matches. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
