Softball Recap: Desoto Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Festus

DeSoto faced Festus in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Dragons came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Dragons were not able to get on the board.

With the loss, DeSoto broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2. As for Festus, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeSoto will head out to square off against Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Festus, they will face off against Herculaneum at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
