Softball Recap: Duchesne/Roncalli Has No Trouble Against Benson

Duchesne/Roncalli won the last time they faced Benson and things went their way on Wednesday too. Duchesne/Roncalli blew past Benson 14-1. The result was nothing new for Duchesne/Roncalli, who have now won six matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Reagan Rewczuk looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Londyn Scebold was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Evans, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Duchesne/Roncalli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Benson only posted an OBP of .267.

Duchesne/Roncalli is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Benson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Duchesne/Roncalli will take on Mercy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Benson, they will head out on the road to face off against Bryan at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something the Bunnies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
