Softball Game Preview: Academy for Classical Education Gryphons vs. Banks County Leopards + Official Tickets

The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will face off against the Banks County Leopards at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Academy for Classical Education has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Academy for Classical Education is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Berrien.

Avery Stone was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Sophie Denney was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Academy for Classical Education kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Banks County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Indians an 18-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Banks County's victory bumped their record up to 25-4. As for Academy for Classical Education, their win bumped their record up to 23-10.
