Softball Recap: Lutheran Falls Short Against Ranked Incarnate Word Academy

Lutheran faced Incarnate Word Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Red Knights by a score of 6-5. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lutheran will welcome St. Francis Borgia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they will host Cor Jesu Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
